Mt Kilimanjaro Summit Climb

The roof of a continent.

Nineteen thousand three hundred and forty feet (5,895 meters).

A world unto itself, with a climb up through five distinct climate zones.

This is the opportunity of a lifetime to climb the tallest mountain in Africa.  It stands majestically alone at 19,340 ft. And if you are fit, you can climb it by the Marangu route in 5 days.  It isn't easy, but you can do it.  You will receive a certificate from the Tanzanian government proclaiming your success.

The 5 day climb is led by experienced guides.  Porters will carry the bulk of your gear between the established huts:

  • Night 1 in the Mandara Hut at 6,000 ft

  • Night 2 in the Horombo Hut at 12,000 ft

  • Night 3 in the Kibo Hut at 15,450 ft
"Poli Poli" (slowly, slowly in Swahili) for those 3,450 feet in thin air

  • Night 4 in the Horombo Hut at 12,000 ft
-- that's on the way down after the summit attempt 3,890 ft above Kibo

Build your full itinerary here on the site. If you want to do the full triathlon, we begin with a 50 mile bike race/ride two days before you begin the climb up Mt Kilimanjaro. It takes 5 days to climb Mt Kilimanjaro and then when you come down there is a day of rest. Next is the marathon. Can you do it? That is the question. I have seen unbelievable amateur athletes do more than this. I am not an athlete so I'd just do it for fun. I'd ride my bike and stop and look over everything that is there in Moshi. You must climb the mountain slowly. I'd also take my time for the marathon or half marathon. However, many runners want to win. This is one of the few marathons they could win with a 3.5 hour time. There will also be some bikers who want to win. Well, we do not allow any professionals in the race. So it is the best amateur chance. You could win it!
